I particularly enjoyed your description of Rogers' approach, and of some of the NVC pain I've experienced.

<3Angela Harmshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03882886580345280846noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8491758030360570659.post-84918820392507428292012-04-15T21:08:31.795-07:002012-04-15T21:08:31.795-07:00Thank you, Ian! For the last few years, I've been deeply disheartened with the teaching & practice of NVC, which I so often have difficulty reconciling with what I see in Marshall and in Carl Rogers. I'm delighted (again) to read your description of Rogers' intentions and style, which inspires me to hope there may be other interested in evolving away from the trainer/student dichotomy as reinforced by labels & certifications.

There's a free version of the article you linked to on Carl Rogers' personal style of group facilitation as an article My Way of Facilitating a Group.Conalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05756984502464196668noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8491758030360570659.post-33826657628614157802012-04-11T06:26:33.581-07:002012-04-11T06:26:33.581-07:00"....real heart-felt connection between peopl..."....real heart-felt connection between people is possible when one makes the concerted effort to have it happen."

Boy do I wish I could permanently etch this into my brain (as well as the brains of everyone else in the world.westonnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8491758030360570659.post-50126327501542951552012-04-10T17:18:15.497-07:002012-04-10T17:18:15.497-07:00Thank you for posting this, Ian! And, as usual, i bump into money: I have a sense of stepping out of integrity (being fully aligned with my values) whenever i consider to charge money for my "services." I long to just simply be a catalyst - and have the rest take care of itself. And i struggle to make that happen in our money-centric world. Thanks for helping me reconnect with that longing, Ian, which is i think at the center of what i am struggling with as a stretch my wings to fully become my authentic self!Rachelhttp://www.rabe.orgnoreply@blogger.com
